The Interior Ministry denied on Thursday media reports that Ziad Baroud was planning to run in the upcoming legislative elections. In a statement, the Ministry refuted a newspaper report "citing that more than one side is trying to convince Baroud to run for the Kesserwan seat." The minister "has no intention, whatsoever, to run in the elections," the statement said. Baroud's position is "in harmony with the role he has been playing to manage -with all neutrality - the electoral process," it added.The statement pointed out to the minister's commitment to fully "carrying out this mission, entrusted to him by President Michel Suleiman."
